UPTON BATCH TYPE FURNACES

Upton manufactures batch type furnaces in either electric
or gas fired heating systems. The design of the heating systems
provide for shielding of the loads from the detrimental effects
of direct radiant heat or flame impingement while promoting
efficient uniform heating of the loads.
AIR CIRCULATION SYSTEM PROMOTES TEMPERATURE
UNIFORMITY
The design of the Upton air recirculating system employs a
cartridge type fan located in a plenum mounted in the top
of the heating chamber. Lateral sidewall ductwork distributes
the air for controlled delivery into the furnace with return
air passing through the fan inlet for recirculation and redistribution
within the furnace heating chamber. The Upton design can promote
temperature uniformities of +/-5 degrees throughout scale.
TRIPLE SEAL FURNACE DOOR
The design of the Upton furnace door provides a triple seal
of refractory to refractory, refractories to steel and perimeter
gasket to the furnace steel faceplate. This design provides
for atmosphere integrity while minimizing thermal losses.
