lIlustrated is Upton's Mighty Matic
Programmable Salt Bath Heat Treat System.
UPTON AUTOMATED SALT BATH FURNACE SYSTEMS
TOTAL PACKAGE APPROACH: Upton automated salt bath systems can be
custom designed with integrated multiple process capability.
Precleaning, heat treating, post cleaning and part- surface
finishing can be incorporated into the single automated system
eliminating the requirement of additional handling and processing
equipment. Finished parts can be unloaded ready for packaging
and shipment.
PROCESS FLEXIBILITY Upton manufactures PLC controlled automated
salt bath furnace systems for a variety of thermal processes.
These systems are custom designed to suit your specific parts,
operating process and production rates. Systems are available
with operator selectable; multiple programming specifically
tailored to your manufactured products.
SYSTEM AUTOMATION OPTIONS Upton offers two designs in automated material
handling systems. The sidearm type Master Matic system can
process loads up to 250 pounds, with the Mighty Matic bridge
crane system designed for load sizes up to 4000 pounds. Both
systems are floor-standing designs without attachment to plant
architecture.
UPTON ROTARY TRANSFER SWING ARMS Upton automated salt bath systems are designed
with rotary swing arms for transfer of the workload from the
high heat furnace to quenching bath to ensure repeatability
of metallurgical process results. Closed loop electronic control
of these devices allows for soft start stop capability creating
transfer times as quickly as 4 seconds.
UPTON HOIST HEAT SAVERS Bridge crane type hoists can include the
Upton Heat Saver for transfer of large loads from the high
heat to quenching bath. These stainless steel lined insulated
enclosures retard temperature drop of the load during quench
delay transfer for process repeatability.
SAFETY/ VENTILATION ENCLOSURE All Upton automated salt bath systems are
totally enclosed for operator safety and for ventilation purposes.
Roller doors and panel type construction allows for access
to the equipment by authorized personnel during manual operation
or for maintenance purposes. This totally enclosed design
allows for flexibility in system location within your plant.
